NONSURGICAL MANAGEMENT
A Spinal injection is an injection made in the epidural area near the nerve roots in the spine. A combination of anti-inflammatory (Cortisone) and anaesthetic (Xylocaine) agents are used during the injection to reduce pain caused by the inflammation of nerve roots.
The purpose of a spinal injection is to reduce inflammation and pain caused by one or more nerve roots located inside the spine. This procedure is the most precise method to administer anti-inflammatory agents specifically to an area with inflammation likely to be caused by a herniated disc, or spinal stenosis. This can reduce your pain and lead to a better quality of life.
SURGICAL TREATMENT OPTIONS
Discectomy/microdiscectomy: Surgical removal or partial removal of a vertebral disc to relieve pressure from the nerves.
Cervical Disc replacement: Surgical replacement of a diseased or herniated disc with an artificial disc.
Laminectomy: Surgical removal of part of the lamina to relieve pressure on the spinal cord and nerve roots.
Spinal Fusion: A procedure that uses a bone graft and surgical hardware to create a solid union between two vertebrae to provide additional spinal support.
All surgeries are done minimally invasive which allows for a quicker recovery and smaller incisions.
